Guidelines for Public Comment

  1. Individuals wishing to address the Colby Community College Board of Trustees shall formally advise the President prior to the beginning of the meeting by giving their name and the agenda item they would like to address. This notification must occur 24 hours before the regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting.

  2. The Chair may, at their option, or shall on a majority vote of the Board, recognize individual(s) to address the Board of Trustees after the Members have discussed the agenda item, but prior to a vote on the motion.

    1. Each speaker is limited to three minutes;
    2. Written information may be submitted;
    3. Individual(s) wishing to speak will identify themselves and state whether or not they represent an opinion of a group or themselves; and
    4. Information or comments related to Colby Community College non-elected personnel may be referred to an Executive Session.
    5. The Board of Trustees will not address personnel issues with the public during an open session meeting.
