Gate Stop

Per the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) IMPP 01-106D Denial of Entry for Contract Personnel, and the signed Memorandum of Agreement between KDOC and CCC:

All Departmental contracts with vendors that supply services to the KDOC shall provide for full compliance with all KDOC and facility rules by contract personnel. The contractor shall be obligated to remedy any concerns expressed by KDOC authorities regarding the performance of the contractor’s personnel. The vendor’s administrative staff shall be required to take immediate and effective action when problematic contract personnel behavior is brought to their attention. In the event the concern cannot be remedied, and removal of the contract personnel from the project is requested by the KDOC, the contracts shall provide that the contractor agrees to remove the contract personnel from the facility. If a contractor terminates an employee for any reason, they shall notify the facility so a gate stop can be issued.

If a Colby Community College (CCC) employee whose job description/work responsibilities require them to perform their duties from within a correctional facility is placed on a Gate Stop of any kind (temporary and/or permanent) by Kansas Department of Corrections and can no longer perform their duties as assigned, they may be placed on unpaid administrative leave while an investigation by KDOC can occur. If the investigation finds the employee responsible and KDOC places them on a permanent gate stop, the employee may be recommended for termination to the CCC Board of Trustees.
