The Colby Community College Student Government Association (SGA) will host a Numana food packaging event Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m. to assemble dry box meals to feed the world’s hungry. The event will be held in the Student Union, and is open to students, staff, and community members who want to participate.

The college SGA is accepting donations to offset the expense of hosting the event. Every packaged meal costs 30 cents, including ingredients, packaging, administration, and international shipping of the container.

"We appreciate the community support so far,” said college SGA sponsor Charles Keefer. “We’re still looking for volunteers that would be willing to help package food."

Based in Eldorado, Numana is a non-profit public charity formed in 2008 as an international hunger relief organization. Since 2009, they have package over 29 million meals for children and families in 13 countries with the help of more than 170,000 volunteers.

For more information on donating or volunteering, contact Keefer in the Student Life office at 460-4610 or charles.keefer@colbycc.edu.
