Online higher education resource Learn.org listed Colby Community College as No. 5 in the Best Online Vet Tech Schools & Programs.

The organization assessed data from hundreds of colleges and universities and based the rankings on quality, academic and career resources, faculty, cost, value, and other factors critical to academic decisions.

Fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Distance Learning Veterinary Nursing Program at Colby Community College allows students to complete traditional coursework online. The student records hands-on clinical experiences under the supervision of a veterinary hospital, and the videos are reviewed by program faculty to ensure all requirements are met. While students are not required to be in Colby, CCC offers on-campus weekend mentorships twice during the fall and spring semesters for those who do not have an option to meet requirements in their area.

The program includes veterinarians Dr. Jennifer Martin, director, Dr. Shad Clymer, program coordinator/instructor, and Dr. Beth Fenton, instructor. Other faculty include registered veterinary technicians Angie Harris and Tyler Appleby, as well as Veterinary Nursing Enrollment and Retention Specialist Mandy Quenzer. Eleven adjunct instructors also teach online courses.
