Colby, Garden City set up fire science agreement
COLBY -- Colby Community College President Dr. Seth Carter and Garden City Community College President Dr. Ryan Ruda signed a memorandum of understanding Monday that provides an avenue for students in the CCC service area to prepare for a career in fire science.
Those living in the Colby sector will take general education classes through CCC and fire science credits through GCCC with the opportunity to complete a fire science certificate. GCCC will also implement instruction and certifications within the Colby area to local fire departments.
CCC Executive Vice President Brad Bennett worked with Garden City to set up the agreement.
“This will provide opportunities to students in our service area as well as expand opportunities for students in the Garden City area,” he said
Students can begin taking fire science courses in the fall of 2020. For more information, contact Bennett at (785) 460-5403.
