Colby Community College sophomore volleyball player Aleksandra Malek was named the week four Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Division I Player of the Week. She earned the same recognition for her week one performance.

Malek, a 6-foot outside hitter from Pszow, Poland, had another big week with 95 kills, averaging 4.75 per set, while playing some of the best teams in the country. She tallied 28 kills in Colby's only conference match of the week against Barton County, which topped her personal high of 27. Defensively, Malek continued to be a threat with 54 digs, averaging 2.7 per set and had four more double-double matches during the week.

The Lady Trojans are 12-4 overall and 4-1 in the Jayhawk West, percentage points behind first place Hutchinson. CCC plays tonight in Pratt and again in Concordia Saturday against Cloud County. The next home action is Sept. 28 against Seward County for a 6:30 p.m. match at the Colby Community Building.
