Equestrian Rider Finishes Sixth
CCC equestrian team member Kaitlin Martin finished sixth in the beginner equitation division at the IHSA Hunt Seat Zone 8 Championships in Palo Alto, Calif., on April 2.
The zone championships were hosted by Stanford University and included riders from 29 colleges and universities. The top two spots advanced to the IHSA Nationals.
Martin entered as the beginner equitation regional champion.
“We are proud of Kaitlin’s accomplishments and her commitment to success,” said coach Shanda Mattix.
The Trojans now look to defend their title in the second annual Junior College Equestrian Championships in Canyon, Texas, on April 16. Last year Colby topped six other colleges from across the country in the inaugural JCEC.
