The Colby Rotary Club is supporting Colby Community College students by serving lunch during the final Picnic in the Park of the summer from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Fike Park.

Rotary volunteers will serve sloppy joe sandwiches and sides and accept monetary donations. All proceeds will benefit the Pat Keiser Food Bank in the Robert Burnett Student Union.

The pantry honors the legacy of the late Pat Keiser, whose lifelong commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on the Colby community. Keiser was instrumental in establishing the Genesis-Thomas County Food Bank, driven by her belief that no one in the community should go hungry.

Known affectionately as "Mama Pat" by student-athletes, Keiser devoted countless hours to supporting Colby Community College athletics. She kept the official scorebooks for the men's and women's basketball and softball programs for many years after volunteering with the Colby High School basketball program. In recognition of her dedication to the College and its students, she was inducted into the Colby Community College Alumni Hall of Fame in 2015. Keiser passed away on Oct. 8, 2024.

"Pat's Pantry," as it is known on campus, is sustained entirely through campus and community donations and is maintained by college staff.
