This year's Spring Art Walk hosted by the Colby Community College art department will be set up throughout the college campus from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 26.

The show features original works by professional artists and students from CCC and Colby public schools, plus Golden Plains, Goodland, and Norton high schools. Many pieces are available for purchase.

Art or activities will be in Ferguson Hall, the H.F. Davis Library, the Robert Burnett Student Union, the Cultural Arts Center gallery, and the Bedker Memorial Complex. Live music will be in most of the buildings.

"Ruth Ellen Lynch and her band will play jazz music all evening by the clock tower," said CCC art instructor Rebel Mahieu. "People should bring a chair and blanket so they can stay for a while and listen."

Additional highlights include food vendors, caricature drawings, face painting and balloon animals. A raku firing will be performed outside the ceramics lab, and Fort Hays State University professor Toby Flores will do a blacksmith demonstration in the center of campus.

There is no charge to attend. For more information or to volunteer, contact Mahieu at (785) 269-7065.
