The Colby Community College Diversity Committee is hosting Former NFL player and current educator, coach, and author Ron Freeman to discuss race relations on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center. An online streaming option is also available at colbycc.edu/diversity.
The title of his presentation is "Rethinking Race: Lighting Candles to Build a Diverse and Inclusive Community of Advocates." He will speak about his experiences growing up in the 1960s with Jim Crow laws and the lessons learned concerning modern-day issues.
Freeman spoke at CCC last August, and he will have a similar schedule Tuesday, meeting with students and employees throughout the day before presenting to the public in the evening.
