Documentary tracks food origins
The Thomas County Farm Bureau Association and the Colby Community College Farm Bureau Chapter are sponsoring a free viewing of the documentary, Before the Plate, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, in the Cultural Arts Center.
Before the Plate follows John Horne, one of Canada's most renowned chefs, as he visits farms that contribute ingredients to a dish he serves in his restaurant. The film explores indoor and outdoor farming, genetically engineered seeds, and organic production, as farmers reveal their most pressing issues in a rapidly evolving agricultural landscape.
Masks are required at the event, and social distancing is encouraged. For more information, contact Shanda Mattix at (785) 460-5464 or shanda.mattix@colbycc.edu.
