Colby Community College board member Arlen Leiker was the only nominee from more than 114 community college trustees in the state chosen to represent Kansas in the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). He was also selected as the only trustee from Kansas to be on the nominations committee for the ACCT. Both appointments came at the 50th Annual ACCT Leadership Congress Oct. 16-19 in San Francisco, Calif.

“Board Member Leiker fully deserves this honor," said CCC President Dr. Seth Carter. "He has done so much for Colby Community College and the community college sector as a whole. This recognition further personifies his dedication to advancing student success.”

The ACCT is a non-profit educational organization of governing boards, representing more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees who govern over 1,200 community, technical, and junior colleges in the United States.

Leiker, from Colby, has served on the CCC Board of Trustees since 2007.
