Thirty-six Colby Community College student-athletes and six teams earned academic distinction by the National Junior College Athletic Association for the 2016-17 school year.

“I'm proud of these student-athletes and teams that have been honored for their academic accomplishments,” said Director of Athletics Ryan Sturdy. “They are great ambassadors for our institution and set a great example for others. We increased the number of individuals over last year and that shows the effort of our coaching staffs to recruit great students into our community. Congratulations to each of them and the teams that earned these well-deserved academic honors.”

To earn NJCAA all-academic first-team recognition, a student-athlete must carry a 4.00 grade point average. Second-team honorees have a GPA between 3.80 and 3.99. GPAs for third-team members range from 3.60 to 3.79.
