Works of Colby Community College art instructor Rebel Mahieu will be featured at the Prairie Museum of Art and History beginning Sunday, Oct. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. The exhibit, Rebel's Private Arts, will be open through October during regular museum business hours.

Mahieu will display mostly new pieces but also a few of her older favorites. She used a variety of mediums including oil acrylic, mixed media, watercolor, and sculpture.

Over several years she has had solo shows in Russell, St. Francis, Goodland, Dodge City and Garden City. Her work has also been in several exhibits throughout the region.

Prior to entering postsecondary education at CCC in 2008, Mahieu taught art in the Russell school district. The Glen Elder native earned a bachelor’s degree in art education and a master’s degree in sculpture from Fort Hays State University.

There is no admission charge to view her exhibit at the museum.
