Forty nine units of blood were collected at the Feb. 28 Colby Community College blood drive, eight fewer than the 57 units collected by Northwest Kansas Technical College on March 1. The two schools had a competition to see which campus could have more donors.

“I want to thank those who helped with the drives,” said CCC president Dr. Seth Carter. “The two organizations and communities raised more than 13 gallons and helped provide blood for over 300 individuals.”

Since Colby collected fewer units, Carter owes Northwest Tech president Ben Schears a steak dinner.
