Article XVI

SAVINGS CLAUSE

In the event any provision or application of this agreement is held to be contrary to law under any
appropriate state or federal statute or regulation, the balance of this Agreement, not affected by such
ruling, shall remain in full force and effect, and the Board and Alliance shall meet in a good faith effort
to negotiate appropriate provisions to correct any invalidity.
