*This program requires selective admission to the sophomore year.
The PTA program is planned in accordance with the established standards of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Upon satisfactory completion of this program, the student receives an Associate of Applied Science Degree and qualifies to take the National Physical Therapist Assistant Exam (NPTAE). The curriculum is arranged in a 1 + 1 format. The freshman year (pre-PTA) is open to all students and consists of core courses. Admission to the sophomore year is limited. An interview process occurs each spring before the start of the sophomore year. The PTA program has an 19% (3-year average, 2014-2016) attrition rate in the sophomore year. Board pass rate (3-year average, 2014-2016) is 94%.
