The
Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series features speakers each year on a variety of topics such as history, politics, and
social issues.
The Series is named after Dr. Max Pickerill, an educator for more than 60 years.
“Pick,” as he was known, earned the respect of countless students, peers and family
members during his extraordinary career. He began teaching chemistry at Colby Community
College in 1974. Although he officially retired in 2008, he continued teaching part-time
until his death in May 2011.
The Lecture Series is always free and is funded by anonymous donors.
