Dr. Max PickerillThe  Dr. Max Pickerill Lecture Series features speakers each year on a variety of topics such as history, politics, and social issues.


The Series is named after Dr. Max Pickerill, an educator for more than 60 years.  “Pick,” as he was known, earned the respect of countless students, peers and family members during his extraordinary career.  He began teaching chemistry at Colby Community College in 1974.  Although he officially retired in 2008, he continued teaching part-time until his death in May 2011. 

The Lecture Series is always free and is funded by anonymous donors. For more information, call (785) 460-5528.

The main clinical site is located on the Colby Community College campus where students learn under the close supervision of a licensed dentist and licensed hygienists. This clinic is open to the public and provides services at no cost. Call 785.460.5438 to make an appointment for one of the following services:

  • Oral cancer screenings
  • Oral health presentations
