Residence Life

Research shows that one of the key factors impacting a college student’s success is his or her living arrangements. Studies show students who live on-campus are more likely to have a higher degree of satisfaction with their college experience, participate in co-curricular activities and return to college the following year as well as improve their personal and educational relationships. We offer a great opportunity for students to live on campus!

Food Service - Consolidated Management

The dining room is located in the Student Union. Food Service is provided by Consolidated Management Co. We offer a 19-Meal Plan that includes 3 meals per day Monday through Friday, 2 meals per day on Saturday and Sunday.

The Campus Bookstore is located in the heart of the Robert Burnett Memorial Student Union.  Store hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Student Health

If you are not feeling well or just need to talk over a health concern, the Student Health Center is the place to go. The center is located down the south hall of the Student Union. Health services are provided under the direction of a registered nurse and the campus physician. The Health Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Students are seen on a drop-in basis. Appointments are needed for consultation with the physician.

Clubs & Organizations

We are committed to providing co-curricular activities that will assist students in the development of leadership skills and community service skills that compliment classroom education. Involvement in student organizations provides students with opportunities to grow as a citizen. We are excited to support student clubs and our staff and faculty are prepared to help you achieve your goals.

Student Transportation

We offer free bus transportation from Denver International Airport at the beginning of each semester, as well as return transportation to DIA at the end of each semester.  Dates will be posted on the website one semester in advance. These are the only college-sponsored travel arrangements to DIA available at no cost.

The Campus Security Office is located in the southeast corner of the Student Union. The Campus Security Officer distributes parking decals, regulates parking and vehicle traffic on campus, and patrols campus to provide a secure and safe place for the students. The Campus Security Officer will assist with vehicles that are inoperable and will, for certain vehicles, assist in unlocking a vehicle if someone has locked their keys inside their vehicle. Any crime committed on campus should be reported to the Campus Security Office.

Intramural Sports

Under the direction of the Intramural Coordinator, several different sports are offered throughout the school year.  During the first eight weeks of fall classes you can participate in co-ed flag football and volleyball. During the second eight weeks of fall classes students can participate in bowling. After Christmas break, you can become involved in men's and women's basketball. In the spring, co-ed slow-pitch softball begins. Depending on student interest, other sports can be scheduled.

On-Campus Entertainment

We offer a wide range of facilities for recreation, activities, and entertainment. The swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, and racquetball courts are available and open for student use at designated times.  Both living centers have facilities for various types of recreation and activities. The Cultural Arts Center is designed for plays, lectures and concerts.  In addition, the Student Union has a multi-purpose area, TV room, and lounge area.

There are also many on campus activities and events scheduled each semester, from formals and other dances to barbecues, talent shows, and many exciting home sporting events to attend.

Off-Campus Entertainment

Colby offers a wide variety of entertainment. There are two multi-screen movie theaters, a bowling and fun center, museums, galleries, shopping, restaurants and much more.

Cities and towns within easy driving distance offer even more opportunities for fun. Denver is just a little over three-hours west of Colby on I-70.
