COLBY – Denita Rodgers will lead the return of the cheer and dance teams at Colby Community College in the fall of 2024, the college announced on Monday. Colby paused the program after the 2019-2020 COVID-19 delay.

Rodgers has a history of coaching excellent teams and brings years of experience to the Trojans. She served as the head dance coach at Colby High School for the last 16 years (2008-2024) and was the cheer coach for two years (2016-2018).

"Coaching is a passion of mine, and I am excited to help bring the programs back to Colby Community College," Rodgers said. "These teams offer additional opportunities for our local graduates, dancers, and cheerleaders to participate at the college level while getting an excellent education and working toward their associate degrees."

She has already started recruiting and offering scholarships. Students interested in cheer or dance should complete the recruitment questionnaire at ColbyTrojans.com and contact Head Coach Denita Rodgers at denita.rodgers@colbycc.edu.
