  1. Studio Friday Features Vice President Greg Nichols

    The featured artist for Studio Friday on Oct. 3 is Colby Community College Vice President of Academic Affairs Greg Nichols.  Studio Fridays, hosted by college art instructor Rebel Jay, are held the first Friday of each month.  The event will be held from 9 a.m.-12 noon and from 1-3 p.m. in Ferguson Hall, Rooms #502 and 503.  Nichols will be demonstrating the techniques to create stained glass works of art.  more...

  2. Max Pickerill Lecture Series Features Wichita News Anchor on Oct. 14

    The Max Pickerill Lecture Series has announced the second speaker of the year is Michael Schwanke, anchor and investigative reporter at KWCH-12 in Wichita.  Schwanke anchors Eyewitness News at 5 p.m. and the 9 p.m. news on KSCW.   He is also a Fact Finder 12 Investigator.  The event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center located on the southeast corner of campus.  more...

  13. Speaks Wins and Leads Trojan Cross Country to Victory

    The Colby Community College men’s cross country team had their season debut on Friday, Sept. 5, as they hosted the annual Colby Trojan Invitational.  The Trojan men were able to hold off a strong Fort Hays State squad to finish atop the team standings. CCC finished with 25 points followed by FHSU with 37 points. Hastings (92 points) and Dodge City (97 points) took third and fourth in the team standings. more...

  14. Volleyball Celebrates Victory Over Saints

    The Lady Trojans earned their first conference win of the season on Wednesday in the Community Building. Colby battled with the Seward County Lady Saints for a full five set match, pulling off the “W” with scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 15-4. The Trojans and Saints are establishing a history of five set matches; all three of their meetings last year went to five sets as well with the Trojans walking away victoriously. more...

  15. Successful Pre-Enrollment Promotion at College

    Creative thinking and a new initiative by Student Affairs Vice President Dr. George McNulty and the Admissions Department at Colby Community College resulted in a significant increase in the number of students who completed enrollment procedures prior to May 5.  Approximately 200 students met the deadline and were entered in a drawing for several prizes.  more...

    The Colby Community College Board of Trustees recently approved the hiring of Jim Rorabaugh to serve as Director of Residence Life.  Rorabaugh has 34 years’ experience  and was most recently employed at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  He is a graduate of Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb.  more...

  30. Director of Data Management Angel Morrison

    Colby Community College recently selected Angel Morrison to be the Director of Data Management.  Morrison, a native of Denver, began her duties on July 28.  Prior to accepting the job at CCC, Morrison was the Data Base Manager for Energy Outreach of Colorado which is a non-profit organization. Morrison managed the data base which tracked donations and produced program reports. more...

  31. Public Invited to Ribbon Cutting at Renovated CCC Residence Hall

  32. Volleyball Honored for Academic Excellence

    The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Aug. 4 that 676 teams earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 season.  The Colby Community College volleyball team was one of the two-year college teams honored for academic excellence.   35. Spring 2014 Honor Roll

    Colby Community College has announced the Spring 2014 Honor Roll recipients. To earn a place on a CCC honor roll, students must earn 15 or more credit hours and have no failing grades.  The Dean’s Honor Roll includes students with grade point averages of 3.75-3.99.  The President’s Honor Roll includes only students with a perfect 4.0 GPA.  more...

    Forty-one new members of the Rho Iota Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Colby Community College were inducted into the international honor society on Saturday, April 5.  Phi Theta Kappa is the largest Honor Society in American higher education with more than 1.5 million members and over 1,200 recognized chapters.  The primary purpose of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship, learning and academic achievement among two-year college students. more...

  82. Wind Test Center Continues to Grow

    Construction activity was in high gear on April 1 at the High Plains Small Wind Test Center (HPSWTC) located 1.5 miles west of Colby Community College as three construction crews converged on the location.  Representatives of Pika Energy installed new equipment on their 2 kW wind turbine which has been undergoing testing since December 2013.  It is attached to a fiberglass monopole with a hub height of 57 feet.
