  8. CCC Announces Spring 2015 Honor Rolls

    The Registrar’s Office at Colby Community College has announced the names of students who achieved academic distinction for the spring 2015 semester. To earn a place on a CCC honor roll, students must complete 12 or more credit hours and have no failing grades. Students on the Dean’s Honor Roll have grade point averages of 3.75-3.99. The President’s Honor Roll includes only those with a perfect 4.0 GPA. more...

  10. Horsemanship Camps Offered by CCC

    Three horsemanship camps hosted by Colby Community College are scheduled the last week of May. The first is an overnight camp for riders with previous riding experience and a knowledge of basic riding skills.  The camp will begin on Sunday, May 24, with registration and horse check-in at 3 p.m. at the CCC Agricultural Center located four miles east and one mile north of Colby.  more...

  17. College to Host Benefit Barbecue

    Colby Community College is hosting a benefit barbecue on Friday, April 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the CCC Student Union. Proceeds will be used to offset medical expenses for Ruby Brungardt, wife of CCC employee Virgil Brungardt.  The menu includes hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, baked beans, and potato salad.   22. Kansas Colleges Reach Reverse Transfer Agreement

    Colby Community College and the other 18 Kansas community colleges are offering reverse transfers with all of Kansas' private colleges. A reverse transfer allows students leaving a community college before earning an associate’s degree the flexibility to transfer credits from a different college back to the community college to complete the associate’s.  A reverse transfer agreement already exists between community colleges and the public universities in Kansas.  more...

    Colby Community College has announced the Massage Therapy Program is expanding to the Norton campus beginning in August 2015.  The certificate program is currently offered in a hybrid format with clinics held on Monday evenings in Colby.  Beginning August 15, 2015, the hybrid program will be offered in the CCC building located at 711 North Norton Avenue in Norton every other weekend.     Kyle Summers, a former student at Colby Community College, has been selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as a 2014 Coca-Cola Leader of Promise Scholar.  Summers, a native of Shawnee, Kans., attended CCC in the 2013-14 academic year.  He was a member of the Trojan Men’s Basketball Team.  more...

    Colby Community College recently selected Angel Morrison to be the Director of Data Management.  Morrison, a native of Denver, began her duties on July 28.  Prior to accepting the job at CCC, Morrison was the Data Base Manager for Energy Outreach of Colorado which is a non-profit organization.   94. Wind Test Center Continues to Grow

    Construction activity was in high gear on April 1 at the High Plains Small Wind Test Center (HPSWTC) located 1.5 miles west of Colby Community College as three construction crews converged on the location.  Representatives of Pika Energy installed new equipment on their 2 kW wind turbine which has been undergoing testing since December 2013.  It is attached to a fiberglass monopole with a hub height of 57 feet.
