Students Participate in Draft Horse Clinic
Wed May 14, 2014
The Colby Community College Horse Program hosted Darin Henry and Tarrah Stuart of Mountain Shadow Carriages on May 8-9 at the college farm. Henry and Stuart, Windsor, Colo., taught the students about draft horses and ‘driving.’
“The students learned to line drive, drive a single on a cart and drive a team hitched to a wagon,” said instructor Shanda Mattix. “It was a great learning experience. Most of our students have little knowledge of this segment of the equine industry so it was a great way for them to learn more.”
The clinic was paid for with funds from the Perkins grant.
