Colby Community College will offer a new Positive Psychology course worth two credit hours April 11-12.  The class, taught by Ryan Hale, will be held from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.

“For years psychologists have studied psychological disorder and disease.  Today a new area of psychology has emerged—positive psychology,” said Hale.  “This new topic in psychology examines what healthy and well-adjusted people are doing to create or foster happiness and vitality in their lives.”

The course attempts to answer the question, “Why are some people just so darn happy?”

In addition to being an instructor at CCC, Hale is a mental health counselor.  This two credit-hour class will be held both days in Bedker Hall located on the southwest corner of campus.

“Attendees can expect a high level of group and class participation as well as self-reflection about their own lives," said Hale.

Participants may enroll online or in the Registrar’s Office.  For more information, contact Hale at 785.462.3984 or email ryan.hale@colbycc.edu.
