Colby Community College has announced the Massage Therapy Program is expanding to the Norton campus beginning in August 2015.  The certificate program is currently offered in a hybrid format with clinics held on Monday evenings in Colby.  Beginning August 15, 2015, the hybrid program will be offered in the CCC building located at 711 North Norton Avenue in Norton every other weekend. The classroom portion of the program is offered online.

“The primary advantage of the hybrid program is that it allows students to pursue a Massage Therapy Certificate without coming to the Colby or Norton campus on a daily basis,” said program director Amber Nuttycomb. “This method is convenient for those with work and family obligations that make it difficult to attend traditional college classes.”

Massage Therapy is the oldest healing art modality. Upon completion of the certificate program, students are eligible to sit for the national test with the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.

According to Massage Magazine, the average income for a new graduate is $27.35 per hour. Employment is available in spas, salons, cruise lines, and chiropractic offices. Many therapists are self-employed.
