Four Colby Community College volleyball players earned region and conference recognition for their strong 2016 seasons.

Sophomores Aleksandra Malek and Maja Jankovic and freshman Melanie Loiseau were named to the 2016 NJCAA All-Region VI Team, while sophomore Singryd Valladares received KJCCC-I All-Conference honorable mention. Malek was also named the Jayhawk Conference most valuable player.

Malek, an outside hitter from Pszow, Poland, was third in the nation in total kills (501), third in the nation in kills per set (4.60) and second nationally in service aces per set (.71). She was a second-team selection as a freshman in 2015, and exits CCC with 938 career kills.

Jankovic totaled 547 digs on the season. The libero from Ruma, Serbia, finished among the top 10 conference players in digs per set (5.02) and service aces per set (.40). In her career at CCC she is a two-time all-region first team selection, earned conference player of the week six times, and was named the Jayhawk West freshman of the year.

As a setter Loiseau had 1002 assists in 2016. She ranked third in the conference with 10.12 assists per set, and her .69 service aces per set was fifth best in the nation. The freshman from Lyon, France, also had 96 kills.

The solid season by Valladares spanned several categories. The Belo Horizonte, Brazil, middle blocker had 258 Kills and 12 aces. Defensively she contributed 61 digs and 60 block assists.

As a team the Lady Trojans finished at 24-10 and advanced to the region semifinals.
