The Colby Community College Equestrian Team hosted the first Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) horse show for Zone 8 Region 5 on Oct. 3-4 at the college Agricultural Center.  CCC finished third each day behind the University of Wyoming and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jade Kruse was awarded reserve high point rider at Saturday's show with a class win in Intermediate Flat and a third place finish in Intermediate Fences.  Other class winners were Kaitlin Martin, Lillian Malcolm, and Jacki Zenger.

“It's a big job to host a home show,” said coach Shanda Mattix. “We provided 40 horses for 250 rides during the weekend.  We're proud of the work ethic and positive attitudes of our team members.  A big thanks to our team’s friends and family who volunteered to help at the show, run the concession stand, and financially support our efforts.”

CCC travels to the University of Colorado this weekend for another hunt seat show before hosting a western competition Oct 17-18 at the college farm.
