Colby Community College, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will host a blood drive on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Robert Burnett Student Union. CCC practical nursing students will be assisting with the blood drive.

According to the Red Cross, each donation can help save several lives. Blood is a perishable commodity and must be regularly replaced. Especially during the holiday season, there is a tremendous need.

To donate blood, a person must be in general good health, be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Volunteer blood donors must present identification at registration in the form of a Red Cross donor card, a valid driver’s license or other official photo identification.

Additional information regarding donor eligibility is online at www.redcross.org. Appointments can be made by calling 460-4797.
