Colby Community College art instructor Rebel Jay and her students will host the Annual Spring Art Walk on Friday, April 15, from 5-9 p.m. along Franklin Avenue in downtown Colby. This is the sixth year for the Art Walk.

The show will feature works by professional artists, as well as pieces from students at CCC, Garden City Community College, Fort Hays State University and area K-12 public and private schools.

Art and activities will span 20 locations. Works by area K-12 students will be displayed at McCarty Dairy. CCC student pieces will be on display in Creation Gallery and Movement Connection.

Two Colby natives will also have art on display. Jenny Dickman will feature her homemade guitars at Horlacher Jewelers, and Sheila Reilley will have various works at Goulash. In addition, Fort Hays State associate professor of sculpting Toby Flores and his students will do an iron pour between Fourth and Fifth streets.

Music, balloon artists, food vendors and other activities will also be available.

“The Colby businesses have been helpful to make this a fun event for the whole family. There will be a lot to do and see,” said Jay.

There is no charge to attend. For more information or to volunteer to help, contact Jay at (785) 269-7065 or 460-5459.
