CCC hosts Constitution Day presentation

Fri Sep 10, 2021

Colby Community College will host a Constitution Day presentation on the fourth and fifth amendments by Corporal Jarad Lange of the Colby Police Department at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, in the H.F. Davis Memorial Library. The free presentation is open to the public.

Lange spent most of his childhood in Colorado and graduated from Middle Park High School in Granby, Colo. He attended Colorado University and took classes from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu. He returned to his home state in 1998 and worked for the Colorado Department of Corrections, where he was eventually promoted to lieutenant.

In 2005, Lange moved to Colby and joined the CPD. He enrolled at CCC in criminal justice classes and later Fort Hays State University to finish his bachelor’s degree in justice studies. His current responsibilities on the police force include field training officer, training coordinator, and patrol supervisor.

Constitution Day is recognized each year on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia. Federal depository libraries across the nation celebrate the day with special events.
