Visiting artist Abby Murray-Killingsworth is the guest instructor at the fall semester’s first Studio Friday hosted by Colby Community College on Sept. 21, in Ferguson Hall rooms 502 and 503. The lesson, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and repeated from 1 to 3 p.m, will cover how to do an acrylic pour.

A native of Goodland, Murray-Killingsworth is the Executive and Creative Director at the Goodland Carnegie Arts Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art from Fort Hays State University.

“Those attending should bring two or three flat boards made of masonite, stretched canvas, or something similar covered with gesso or a flat white latex household paint,” said CCC art instructor Rebel Mahieu. “Participants should also bring acrylic craft paint. Studio paint can be used, but it will need to be thinned. For paint colors, bring black, white, and brown, as well as other analogous colors.”

Studio Friday is open to anyone who wants to observe or participate. For more information regarding the presentation, contact Mahieu at (785) 460-5459.
