Dugan featured in art show
Art enthusiasts will have two opportunities to experience the expertise of Joel Dugan. Pieces by the Fort Hays State University painting professor and his students will be displayed in the Thirsty Thursday art show on Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center gallery. The next day Dugan will host a landscape painting workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Ferguson Hall, rooms 502 and 503.
Dugan is an accomplished visual artist who has an active national exhibition record of solo and group shows, including public art commissions for institutions such as the Ford Motor Company and the State of Michigan. He also works to cultivate community interest in public art and community projects throughout the regions he has called home.
Participants in the Oct. 13 workshop should take a canvas between 9x12 and 18x24 inches; an assortment of brushes, including a detail brush and one at least two inches wide; a palette knife; professional quality oil paints; odorless thinner; paper towels or rags; sketchbook and sketching supplies; and a photo reference.
There is no admission charge for the art show or the painting class.
