Colby Community College is offering monthly community enrichment workshops during the spring semester. Each session will be held from 6-7:15 p.m. on the designated dates. Registration fees range from $15 to $30.

The workshops are designed to serve adults with educational goals that do not require college credit. The purpose of the fee-based opportunities is to contribute to the community’s overall cultural, civic, and intellectual growth.

The January 15 workshop will provide tips on searching and navigating the Internet. Using email services, online shopping, choosing secure browsers, avoiding spyware, and optional privacy tools will also be covered. A repeat session will be offered Jan 22.

Investing 101 is the February 6 workshop. Darryl Henry of Edward Jones will teach specific strategies to help students understand the key principles of saving and investing. The session is also offered Feb. 13 and 20.

On March 5 Quickbooks for Beginners will be offered. Participants will be navigating a sample company, adding customers, vendors, and employees. An emphasis will also be given to banking transactions, sales and expense transactions, charts of accounts, reports, and company settings.

An Advanced Quickbooks workshop is scheduled for March 12. Students are encouraged to bring personal computers in order to work with their accounts. A review of payroll and reporting will also be explored. Inquiries should be sent to to samantha.tolle@colbycc.edu before March 9.

Students can learn about cake decorating on April 16 and 17. The basics of frosting, adding a border, creating a basic design, and writing will be covered. Attendance for both nights is recommended. The $30 fee includes a cake, frosting, and decorating kit.

Registration for all workshops is available at www.colbycc.edu/ceworkshops, or by calling the Admissions Office at (785) 460-4690.
