The documentary Ultimate Wave:  Tahiti will be presented on Monday, March 10, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Cultural Arts Center located on the Colby Community College campus.  The documentary is one of a series of films shown this year by CCC instructor Ryan Hale.

“Treat yourself to a late winter mental vacation and watch nine-time world champion surfer Kelly Slater ride waves in this tropical paradise,” said Hale.  “Wear your board shorts and tank tops to qualify for ‘Best Dressed for the Beach’ prizes.”

The documentary explores the stunning beauty of an island paradise on a quest to find the ultimate wave.  Along the way, viewers will discover the hidden forces of our planet and cosmos that create and shape ocean waves, how the Tahitian Islands formed and how the reef habitat affects the islands.

“Participants will explore Tahitian culture including religion, dance, music and folk lore,” said Hale.  “There is no charge to attend.”
