Annual Spring Art Walk Scheduled for April 18
Colby Community College art instructor Rebel Jay and her students will host the Annual Spring Art Walk on Friday, April 18, from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Colby.
“There will truly be something for every age group,” said Jay. “Some things you will see include artworks from the Colby area and surrounding counties displayed in about 20 businesses in the downtown Franklin Street area. In addition, Easter eggs will be hidden in the businesses for the kids and a Lego challenge, eggs to decorate and other activities for youngsters in first through sixth grades will be available in the basement of Sunflower Bank.”
Works of art by Colby K-12 students will be displayed at Nicole’s School of Dance. CCC students’ art will be on display in the Creation Gallery. The Colby High Plains Art Club pieces will be located in the Law Enforcement Training Center. The Scale House will feature glass blown beads and stained glass creations.
CCC art students will be drawing caricatures at several locations. A mime, balloon creations, caricature artists, food vendors and much more will be available.
“We were so pleased with last year’s response to this event and are anticipating a larger crowd this year,” said Jay. “There is no charge to attend, the Colby businesses have been so helpful and the entire community has joined together to make this a fun event. There will be lots to do and lots to see. Come join us for a great family outing.”
