Colby Community College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the renovated north section of the Living Center East residence hall on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. The ceremony will be in the quad area of Living Center East, located next to the CCC swimming pool.

Remodeling of the 40-bed area began in May and is the first of three phases of improvements to the residence hall. Other updates are scheduled to be finished by 2019 and will mark an entire remodel of the college’s original student housing built more than 40 years ago. Living Center North got a makeover from 2014 to 2016. The projects have been financed largely by grants and private donations.

"These generous donations led to a significant upgrade in our facilities that will enhance the quality of the living experience for our students," said Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. George McNulty. "Simply put, donations help the College to accomplish its mission. We are grateful to the individuals who made this project a reality."

Refreshments will be served, and a tour of the units will be available.
