Colby Community College announced the names of 24 students awarded Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification for the fall 2017 semester.

MOS certification validates mastery of Microsoft Office skills that are beneficial in a wide range of jobs and other life pursuits.

As a Microsoft Imagine Academy testing site CCC provides training on fundamental technology skills for students, staff and community members interested in enhancing performance in a certain area or pursuing a career in IT.

At the time she passed the PowerPoint exam, Colby freshman Brittany Alexander was among the top three in the state based on her score and the completion time. She became certified in two areas.

"I had the opportunity to take the PowerPoint certification exam as part of my Computer Concepts and Applications class,” she said. “I will continue to use the skills I learned during class as I proceed with my education and future career. Receiving a high score will also allow me to use the certification on my resume as I work toward earning my degree."

Other certification options through the college include Access 2016, Outlook 2016, SharePoint 2016, OneNote 2016, Word 2016 Expert Part 1, Word 2016 Expert Part 2, Excel 2016 Expert Part 1 and Excel 2016 Expert Part 2.
