Observation is required for admission to the PTA Program.  Forms are always due before interviews - April first of each year.  The criteria as of April 2007 will include the following.

40 hours with a minimum of four (4) different settings -

Acute hospital of 50-100 beds - at least four (4) hours

A facility that treats primarily neurologic diagnoses - at least four (4) hours

A facility that treats primarily outpatients - at least four (4) hours

A skilled nursing facility - at least four (4) khours

The remaining hours may be spent in any of the settings that is the most convienient for you. This will broaden your knowledge and view of the physical therapy field.
