Board of Trustees

The Colby Community College Board of Trustees is composed of six individuals from Thomas County. They serve the college and community at no remuneration and exhibit diligence, patience, and dependability in advancing the interests of the college and its many constituents in northwest Kansas. Board meetings are held the third Monday of each month.



Meet the Board Members

KENTON KREHBIEL, Board Chair

Kenton Krehbiel has served as a CCC trustee since 1992.  Many of those years he has served as board president, a position he currently holds.  Kenton is Postmaster for the City of Colby and is active in the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Pierre C. Henry Foundation.


ARLEN LEIKER, Board Vice-Chair, Board Treasurer, and KACCT Representative

Arlen Leiker acts as the board’s current Kansas Association of Community College Trustees’ representative and is the current board Treasurer.  He is a UPS driver who has served on the Board of Trustees since 2007.

CINDY BLACK

Cindy Black is the Office Manager of Homeland Realty and Auction located in Colby, Kansas.  Cindy has served on the CCC board since 2005, including two years as the chair.

DALE HERSCHBERGER

Dale is the owner of ZEZ Commodities located in Colby, Kansas.  He was first appointed to the board to fill an unexpired term.  Dale was recently elected to serve a four-year term on the Board of Trustees.


BILL SHIELDS

Bill Shields began his first term in July, 2009.  Bill is a manager with Crop Production Services.

Nick Wells, CCC Foundation Association Liaison

Nick Wells is the Executive Director of the Colby Community College Foundation Association.  He has a great deal of administrative experience in post-secondary education and was an instructor and livestock judging coach at CCC from 1978-1996.
