"I am very excited about this year's group. We are going to be very young with only five athletes returning from last year's team. However, of those five guys, three were National Qualifies. We plan for at least two of these guys to lead this young but very talented group into action.
Konnor Kriss from Colby will be back and healthy leading the charge. James Jones and Sebastian Nehls are both returners who fell a single win away from being All-Americans. We're planning on them improving their performance after a great freshman year.
This year's freshman class is loaded with talent led by Hoxie stand-out Calvin Ochs. Calvin is a highly-touted recruit who has won all over the country and was a four-time high school All-American. We will look for Calvin to step in and make an immediate impact.
Ronald Wells, also a highly-recruited young man from Omaha, NE, was a three-time state champion, going undefeated his sophomore, junior and senior years.
Other freshman who could make an immediate impact are Hu8nter Price of Holton who was a state champion on the state championship team.
Local athletes with great talent who could step in and do great things are Quade Woofter and Beau Brown, both from Colby; and Kane Washington of Hoxie.
This will be a fun year to watch these young men grow and continue to get better. It is the youngest and most inexperienced team the Trojans have had in some time."
