Steve Kinnett comes to Colby Community College from Bailey, Colo., outside of Denver. After compiling over 420 wins with various “A” travel clubs in Colorado and a winning percentage of nearly 700%, Kinnett made the transition to the college level 2013.
Bringing expertise in all aspects of the game to the Lady Trojans, Steve made an immediate impact on the program helping the Lady Trojans to one of their best seasons in recent years. A retired self-employed contractor for 25 years, Steve is looking forward to the challenges of improving the softball program on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
Kinnett graduated from Kansas State University with a business management degree in 1989. He has been married to his wife Sheri for 32 years, and has 3 daughters, Stephanie, Chelsea, and Courtney. Coach Steve also has two grandchildren, Deegan and Lyla.
Mary McLaughlin enters her third season as an assistant coach with the Lady Trojan softball team. McLaughlin is a former player for Colby, serving as the team's catcher in the spring of 2007 and 2008. McLaughlin led the team in hitting as a freshman including batting average and runs batted in.
McLaughlin assists head coach Steve Kinnett with all aspects of the program including game preparation, conditioning, and recruiting.
