  5. Men’s Track Wins Triple Crown

    Colby Community College Head Coach James Ortiz and the men’s cross country and track teams accomplished something this year that no other teams have done since the Division I merger in 2003.  The CCC men’s track & field achieved the elusive Triple Crown of the Region VI running sports by winning the 2014 Region VI Outdoor Track & Field Champions in Arkansas City May 2-3.  more...

    The Colby Community College Men’s Track and Field Team, coached by James Ortiz, continued to dominate the competition over the weekend at the Alex Francis Classic in Hays.     All-American Fabian Hayles has signed his letter of intent to compete for Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. next season.  Hayles, a native of Canada, is a four-time All-American for the Colby Community College Trojans. Hayles was a member of the national champion 4 x 800 meter relay that helped lead Colby to a second place team finish at the NJCAA Indoor Championships. more...

  11. Trojan Duo Heading to Texas

    Colby Community College sophomores Omar Trevino and Raheem Brown have signed letters of intent to compete for Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Tex.  Trevino and Brown will be heading closer to home as they are both Texas residents.   12. 4x400 Meter Relay Shines at 63rd Annual TSU Relays

    The Colby Community College men’s track team sent a partial squad to the 63rd Annual Texas Southern Relays on March 21-22.  The highlight of the competition was the performance of the 4 x 400 meter relay team.  Team members Ashley Riley, Fabian Hayles, Keenan Williams and Dontrell Lyons captured the 4 x 400 meter relay title in a new school record time of 3:13.89.  CCC topped NCAA Division-I schools Jackson State, Grambling, Southern, Texas Southern, and Houston Baptist to claim the relay. more...

    Colby Community College sophomore Keenan Williams has signed a letter of intent to run for Northwestern State University next season. Williams was a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay that set a new school record of 3:14.43, and he holds a personal best of 6.90 in the 60 meter dash and 21.83 in the 200 meter dash indoors.  Williams is a native of Bastrop, La. more...

    Colby Community College sophomore Louis Edmiston signed a national letter of intent to run for Kansas Wesleyan for the 2014-15 seasons.  Edmiston, a native of Aurora, Colo., is one of four sophomores who helped lead the Colby Trojan Cross Country program to the school’s first and only back-to-back Region VI Cross Country titles.  more...

    For the first time in Colby Community College history the men's track & field program won the Region VI and KJCCC Conference-West Indoor Track & Field titles.     The Colby Community College Men’s Cross Country Team took second place in a field of 11 colleges and universities on Sept. 14 at the Blue Dragon Invitational in Hutchinson.  The Trojans were paced by freshman Chris Speaks (Cold Springs, Tex.) who finished ahead of junior Cory Keehn of Fort Hays State University to win the overall title.  This is the second consecutive race that the CCC freshman has won an event.  Last week he won the Colby Trojan Invitational.  more...

    The Colby Community College men’s cross country program opened their season in a big way on Friday evening at the meet held on the Colby campus.  The Trojan men won the Colby Trojan Invitational over Fort Hays State University , Dodge City Community College  and Barton Community College with a perfect score of 15 points.  In order to obtain a perfect score the Trojans needed their first five runners to pass the finish line ahead of all runners from other colleges.  The Trojans went on to place six runners ahead of all other competitors. more...
