Colby Community College Equestrian Team member Jade Kruse (Oakley) competed April 4-6 at the Zone 8 Championships hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif. Kruse qualified for the Championships in Novice Flat and Novice Fences because she was Reserve Regional Champion for Zone 8 Region 5 in those classes.
“Jade was a fantastic representative for CCC,” said Head Coach Shanda Mattix. “She placed fifth in the Novice Flat class and 8th in Novice Fences. She is graduating this year so this was a great way to end her career as a collegiate equestrian. I’m sure we will continue to see her have much success in the arena as she pursues personal interests in the equine industry and horse show world.”
Other schools competing in Palo Alto included UC-Davis, UC-Berkeley, UC-Santa Barbara, Santa Clara University, Sonoma State, Cal Poly-Pomona, Cal Poly-SLO, USC, Arizona State, Claremont College, CSU Fullerton, University of Montana, Rocky Mountain College, University of Montana-Western, Utah State, Montana State, Oregon State, University of Washington, Western Washington University, Seattle University, University of Oregon and Clemson University.
