Dr. Jason Whitehead, March 6, 2018, 7 p.m., CCC Cultural Arts Center

Dr. Jason Whitehead has served in a variety of communities as a professor, lecturer, consultant, pastor, and therapist. He is the author of Redeeming Fear, an interdisciplinary book that explores the emotion of fear from a religious perspective. He has also written about the intersections of therapy, evil, and suffering; mental health stigma in communities of faith; and, most recently, the social construction of soulfulness.

Dr. Whitehead holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degrees in sociology and divinity, and a doctorate in philosophy, religion and psychological studies.

His March 6 presentation will explore the rise of our culture of fear; the impact it has on our brains, bodies, communities; and meaning-making and ways we might begin to unravel the effects of fear and re-imagine and re-shape the world around us.
